We all aspire to imitate the latest fashions and trends in some way, because we want to fit in with what is deemed 'normal' by societies gurus. How do we maintain our uniqueness though, if we are all being being driven along, like lemmings, by the worlds 'elite'? How do you hold on to your own sense of modesty in a world  where everyone else's is disappearing?

Who are we? We are women, mothers, daughters, sisters and friends. You can call me Soobi.  I love fashion and follow the latest trends eagerly. Of late I have been disgruntled by the way designers and celebrities are forcing us to subscribe to this anti-modest approach to clothing. The see through dress, the exposed breasts and don't get me started on the 'panini-gate'!

As hemlines rise and necklines plunge, it seems as though 'shock and awe' is no longer the aim. It has become the new normal to expose women's most private parts, placing everything on display in the most sexual way. Gone are the days when the biggest scandal was a nipple breaking free from a taped garment. Now, the less tape the better. As designers fight for their right to stride proudly across the worlds biggest catwalks, it becomes abundantly clear that to succeed, modesty has to take a back seat. These fashion statements are given the stamp of approval when the worlds most prolific personalities and celebrities latch on to them, making it cool or the latest 'must have' amongst their adoring fans. Finally a more affordable version - usually one that involves using even less fabric - trickles down onto the high street leaving young women and girls with little choice but to follow trends that objectify them as sex objects.

ModEst is all about the modern woman striving to maintain her modesty whilst being able to shine uniquely. This is about finding the latest high-end trends to wear that compliment your form without putting it on show in an immodest way. It will take the latest offerings as seen on the glossy magazines and vivid online pages and suggest ways in which the same look can be achieved without compromising on ones modest aspirations.

Being modest in no way limits ones beauty. When we were born and laid in our mothers arms, we were beautiful and that was only with our unique skins covering us. Okay, so we are not babies anymore, but we are all exquisitely made and clothing should serve to compliment and maybe enhance this a little.

Let's explore this crazy world of fashion together and make modesty the new mode.
