Fabulously Mature Darling!

So, in my travels around the wonderful world of the internet, I came across a darling lady named Linda Rodin. No, I haven't met her in the flesh, although, I may just as well have. Her personality jumps out from the screen and suddenly I want to be chatting with her on a busy New York street, drinking coffee at some trendy bar. She is a style icon for every over 60 year old out there and I am not talking boring. I am speaking about excitement, vivid colours, vibrant energy that comes with this woman. Guess what too ... she is right up our street for ModEst women.

Linda Rodin is a stylist, having dressed many of the big names that walk the red carpet today. She has also embarked on luxury skin products in 2007 and has been adding lines ever since. He Olio Lusso face oil was her first elixir that she spent two years making. When you read her blog found here, http://oliolusso.com/blogs/linda-rodin you will understand that her simple outlook on life is the key to her amazing existence.

So, lets just say you have decided to get your act together, stop eating all the rubbish that we love and throw out every fuddy duddy outfit in your wardrobe. What next? How do you begin to organise a fun trendy wardrobe that is age appropriate? Well the above image shows that you can mirror your fun personality in your choice of clothing. Three quarter length jeans look great and if you have a good pair of ankles, its an opportunity to show them off when wearing a nice pair of flatties. In fact, jeans are a great way to show the youthful you. Linda looks good from her head down to her toes.

Dressing in an age appropriate way is a must for all ages. So just as we would not expect to see a four year old wearing stiletto heals and slit skirts, we would neither want to see over 60s wearing bare-all outfits or more simply put, garments that show too much skin. So above, Linda has a chic elegant look. The lacey sleeves add mystery and youth. The shoes are also a fantastic look. Low-heeled does not have to mean flat, ugly hooves. I would describe this look as dainty and elegant. Linda has a great pair of legs no? Showing them like this is totally cool. Why is it programmed in us to put thick tights on past 60? Try going without on occasion this summer.

I suppose that if you surround yourself with colour, you are feeding your creative energy that will be reflected back in your style and clothing. Look at her leggings! They are crazy cute! Linda Rodin has an incredibly svelte silhouette. Wearing leggings will not be for everyone, however, invest in a good quality pair of brightly coloured leggings or skinny trousers like the ones featured above. I would suggest a longer top that covers over the private regions and this could be done by wearing an open shirt or an oversized jumper.

When choosing pieces for your 'New-You' wardrobe, have fun. Being modest is often seen as a deal breaker, a way of saying that you're a frump. Well, it doesn't have to be that way. Remember the definition of the word Modest when referring to a woman is, 'Dressing or behaving so as to avoid impropriety or indecency, especially to avoid attracting sexual attention'. So start having fun with your wardrobe, be daring and try new things.

This is one stylish woman. She is an adventurer with an eccentric personality. She has a great sense of humour and cares a lot about how she looks and is perceived. How can I tell this? I've never met her. You see, her innards are being exposed through her clothing. Her youthful outlook is on show and looks positively fabulous darling! Notice her shoes...head to toes girls. Shoes can make such a difference to an outfit.

Let's say you don't have a wardrobe that has a rainbow bursting out of it, a cute pair of white boots will get heads turning for all the right reasons. White boots for summer are hot off the catwalks this season so invest in a pair. The matching bag works well too.

Life has a funny way of speeding up on us as we grow older, so get rid of the old and bring in the fun new you. There are so many 60+ women that are wearing their heart on the outside. Do you love Yellow or Tangerine? Then team it up with a great pair of jeans or a jean jacket. Are you more eccentric in nature? Experiment with colours and styles, remembering that you are you from head to toe. Keep to wearing age appropriate styles, not the ones found in your local supermarket, but invest time to sniff out the slightly different bargains out there.

I have every confidence that you will dig out the chic in you and support us in making Modesty the new mode.
