SAG Awards

One trusted source describes the SAG as being: an accolade given by the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists to recognise outstanding performances in film and prime time television. I have listed ten of my favourite looks below.

1. Ellie Kemper

Ellie Kemper wore a beautiful blue gown that had an asymmetric neckline and sat on one shoulder.

2. Octavia Spencer

Octavia Spencer wowed in this delightful black gown. She looked elegant and demure keeping the baring of flesh to a minimum, This is how the ModEst woman does it.

3. Salma Hayek

This custard yellow dress with dusky pink frills and waist belt is lush. I call it the ultimate Rhubarb and Custard delight. This fits Salma Hayek like a glove and whilst it bares some flesh, its all in the right place for a ModEst woman.

4. Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman has to be my favourite pregnant celebrity. She manages to look regal in this amazing gown. Whilst it would overpower some, Natalie carries it off perfectly. I love this ModEst look.

5. Taryn Manning

Taryin Manning is wearing a superb gown. This deep aubergine colour is stunning against her porcelain skin. Featuring layers of fabrics and asymmetric lines, this dress has managed to make glamour desirable in a ModEst way.

6. Rachal McAdams

Rachal McAdams is one of my favourite female actresses. Her timeless beauty is always reflected in what she wears. This gown proves that you can maintain your modesty without compromising being on trend. This is one of my favourite gowns seen at the SAG Awards.

7. Millie Bobbie Brown

What I loved the most about Millie's dress, was that it was age appropriate. In fact, it has restored my faith to know that all hope has not been lost. The world still appreciates the need to keep our children's modesty their No.1 priority. Nice going Millie.

8. Naomi Harris

Oh no you didn't! Oh yeah she did! Yes Naomi Harris looks amazing in this trouser suit. Bold pinstripes coupled with delicate folds in the fabric on top, makes this a powerful and yet feminine number.

9. Lupita Nyong'o

This is an elegant creation that incorporates both the stripey and pleated trends. Lupita also wore a shorter version of the dress and looked equally fabulous in it.

10. Helen Mirren

Ultimate Favourite Alert! Helen Mirren wore a bejewelled gown that was truly awe-inspiring for all the right reasons. The encrusted jewels around her shoulder area gave her height, drawing your eyes upwards. The cut of the V-neckline was perfectly placed, keeping Helen's modesty intact. Helen wears minimal jewellery allowing the dress to take the limelight ... and so it did.

There are so many awards that feature fashion designer's creations gracing the red carpet. Their muses are these amazing actors and actresses that give themselves wholly so that we ge a glimpse into events and worlds different to our own. Are we inspired? Well I am and I think that most who take time to read fashion blogs are. So use these trends to set your spring wardrobes. Over time, I will be replicating these looks through my Pinterest Board, which is called ModEst Look Book.

Until the next time
